Beach resident endorses County commission candidate
To the editor:
If elected, Larry Kiker will make an excellent Lee County commissioner. Under his administration, the town management and staff, as now constituted, is in my opinion of one of the best we have ever had. They have provided much needed stability and consistency.
As a businessman, Kiker has been able to bring about improvements while keeping expenses at a minimum. In analyzing my latest homeowners taxes, I find my tax payable to the town of Fort Myers beach is still only six percent of my total tax bill. This is little enough to pay for the privilege of living in this beautiful location and be governed by fellow islanders.
As in any community, we have disagreements, which is how it should be.
Perhaps Larry Kiker’s administration’s greatest accomplishments -particularly in this day and age- has been to reduce the stridency of these disagreements that has existed in the past.
