Larry Kiker for Lee County Commission
To the editor:
There are three huge problems on Fort Myers Beach that we wish to discuss.
– 1. Traffic has always been a problem in season. Now when we have a window to greatly improve the flow of traffic over the bridge, the County seems only concerned about how to direct drivers to their parking lots.
– 2. The FMB Town Council has been able to convince the Lee County Board of Commission to place the County-owned Estero Boulevard on their schedule for upgrading. Town Council was able to complete the city-owned North Estero Boulevard upgrade on schedule and below budget. It is beautiful! Hopefully the County will benefit from the Town’s project experience.
– 3. We believe that FMB is a “cash cow” for the county. Also we have read that the money spent on our Island is nowhere near what the County receives from us. Larry Kiker would be in a position to verify that FMB is getting fair return to our Island.
We cannot understand when FMB draws so many people to the Fort Myers area, that many of our concerns remain unanswered. Therefore, it would be logical to conclude, that if the circumstances remain the same as they have for the last 20 years, little will change in the future.
Why then should not every FMB voter, vote to have Larry Kiker at the Lee County commission table to articulate our deserved needs and requirements. This would benefit both our Town and County.
A bright future for Fort Myers Beach awaits the election of our own Lee County Commissioner, Larry Kiker.
