Parade grand marshal extends welcome to islanders and visitors
To the editor:
Greetings from your grand marshal for the Town of Fort Myers Beach and FMB Civic Association Fourth of July Parade celebrating America’s Independence Day.
The Fourth of July is celebrated each year to commemorate America’s Independence, not only from England but also from the rest of the World. On that day, America officially became a self-sustaining country that has always set the pace for the sharing of friendship with all nations. I ask that all of us share together, and by the Grace of God, this ‘Spirit of Sharing’ will continue to be the leading hope for peace throughout the world.
A special word from the Town of Fort Myers Beach’s GRAND MARSHAL:
On this “Great Commemorative Day of July 4, 2012″, it is a ‘”Great Honor” for me to have been asked to serve in this capacity to Honor all of the people who not only live on this Island but also to those who come to live as residents or visitors to enjoy the beautiful weather of the winter months.
To the local folks who visit our community and to the other folks who come from many parts of the world to spend time on our beautiful island of paradise, we extend a special welcome to each of you.
The beautiful white sandy public beach and the residents and Business Community extend a “hardy welcome.”
To all of you, welcome to the Town of Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July Parade and festivitie, which will continue throughout the day and into the late evening to enjoy the annual fireworks display near the Fort Myers Beach Pier. ENJOY!
