Summer camp organizer thanks intended contributors
To the editor:
Earlier this month, we wrote about the closing of our church’s summer day camp and our regret that we could not continue it. There were numerous individuals and groups in our community who participated in the planning for this program, contributing time, talent, and resources, both material and intangible. We extend our sincere appreciation to the following people, businesses, and organizations for their involvement:
– Kelli Anderson, videographer; “Annie”; The Beach Arts Cooperative; “Brian”; Mrs. Brindise, Beach Elementary teacher; The Rev. Gabriella Cahaley; Bruce Cermak & The Surf Club; Dr. Sherwood Cooper, Pet Vet; Debbie Dunlap, Kids’ VIP; Al Durrett & FishTale Marina; Corri Francisco, massage therapist; Tre Gillette & Tuckaway Bagel & Wafel Caf; Steve Greenstein & Ava Hinojosa, Care & Rehabilitation of Wildlife; Eve Haverfield, Turtle Time; John Heim, Eco’Arts; Carrie Hill, actress; Dr. Leroy Hommerding & staff, Fort Myers Beach Library; Missy Layfield, Keri Hendry, & staff, The Island Sand Paper; Father Don Nicholson & Saint Raphael’s Episcopal Church; Laurie Nienhaus, Beach Haus Productions; Bob Petcher & Melissa Schneider, The Fort Myers Beach Observer & The Beach Bulletin; Mary Rawl, Chris, & Kirsten, Calusa Nature Center; Joanne Semmer, Ostego Bay Foundation; Brian Solt, Solt Videography Productions; Sarah Whitehead, AH-TAH-THI-KI Museum; Larry Wood, principal, Beach Elementary; and parents & families of prospective campers.
We apologize if any of the names above are incorrect, or if someone who helped is not included. As many of you know, Rev. Gabriella, who was our minister during the planning for the camp, had to leave us at the end of May because of her husband’s illness. We have tried our best to identify all who contributed.
If you would like more information, please call the church office at 481-5535 or Rev. Dick Tafel at 560-6785.
