School busing system out of whack
To the editor:
My opinion on school choice is a big waste of taxpayer money. We have students on bus rides for over three hours. For what? Are they learning how to drive a bus?
The taxpayers are paying over 50 million a year on school choice. Don’t you think that money would be better spent in the classroom, instead of bus rides?
If parents want a certain school, let them take their kids to school. This program should have been done away with years ago with the cost of fuel and drivers salary, and some of the drivers are making more than the teachers?
When is this going to stop? The school board is responsible for this mess and they don’t care about the cost as long as the taxpayers are footing the bill.
