Early morning snowbirds need lighter clothing

To the editor:

Welcome back to all the “birds” returning for the winter.

Every morning we see more and more of you out for a walk or bike ride or just to cross Estero Boulevard to walk on the beach.

Please be aware that some of us still have to work and drive down Estero every morning just before dawn. If you must be out that early, PLEASE wear light colored clothes and reflective shoes and PLEASE put a light on that old bike.

Walking on the edge of the road in the dark is not very smart nor safe. It is very hard to see you until we are upon you.
