Beach Publix comes to rescue
To the editor:
I would like to thank the Fort Myers Beach Publix for my daughter’s beautiful third birthday cake.
I had every intention of making her a cake on Friday night for her birthday on Saturday, Aug. 27. However, my son split his chin open at the pool that afternoon which required an unexpected trip to the emergency room for stitches.
My plans for baking her cake were shot, and I figured we’d just skip a cake (she is 3 after all and really won’t remember.)
From Tampa, my mother called the store and spoke to store manager Tammy Boolman to explain the situation. Tammy came to the rescue with a pink and purple princess cake and balloons that Publix not only donated to our family, but Tammy also personally delivered it to our home.
We appreciate the compassion shown to us in a time when life had gotten so hectic. Thank you again, Tammy! Publix Rocks!
