Snowbird would like cooler temperatures in doctor’s office

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to express a couple of things. I have been coming to Fort Myers Beach for 10 years or so, enjoying each year more than the last. So I felt I should say something.

I have been going to Physical Therapist Dan Volgeback for two years now. He is wonderful. However, he rents an area from Dr. Scholle down by the US Post Office, and that office is always very warm. Sometimes, it’s just hot.

When I asked the reason for the warm temperatures, I am told the air is off, the controls are in Dr. Scholle’s office and the door is locked.

I can’t believe that Dr. Scholle turns off the air because the office will start to smell of mildew in a short time and, if Dan pays rent, how can you control the airflow? Please do not think that Dan has shared his thoughts with his patients about this matter, but I have picked up on these issues due to the facts. I have also seen Dr. Scholle as a patient, and it is always warm in his office.

I would not like to see a good thing go wrong. That is why I feel that if the good doctor reads this, he may reconsider the way patients feel while sitting in his waiting room and exam rooms. I saw the doctor not long ago in the afternoon. I told him it was very warm in the room, and he apologized for my discomfort. But, I never felt or heard the air turn on when he left the room.

So, thank you Dan for all your wonderful care this season and thank you to Beth Wright and Jo Carter for all your help and lovely smiles this season. Hopefully, I will see you all next season in a nice air-conditioned office.
