Resident speaks out on tax dollars wasted

To the editor:

Fort Myers Beach needs smaller fire departments with less staff. If more people are needed, they can utilize volunteers. There seems to be a lot of expensive equipment that isn’t used often enough to justify the expense. There is not that many fire emergencies.

The library expansion is also an excess that is not needed at this time, and the trolleys could also run less frequently. They seem to be mostly empty as they run up and down the Beach daily.

Fort Myers Beach is wasting tax dollars sending fire trucks to every small fender bender and continuing the high frequency of trolley service.
