VisionWalk to help blindness research

1 min read

To the editor:

Retired chief financial officer for the Lee County School District, Jim Buckley, is affected with retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a retinal disease that has progressively stolen most of his vision. He is rallying students to take a stand against blindness as the School Team Chair for the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ 5th Annual Southwest Florida VisionWalk in Fort Myers on April 9, which aims to raise $40K for leading-edge sight-saving research.

The event is on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Lake Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr., Fort Myers, FL, 33908. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the Walk will start at 10 a.m.

Hope to see you there!
