Realtor observes airplane disturbance

To the editor:

I was showing a house located at mid-island last week to a nice couple from Ohio. We heard an approaching roar and all looked up. A 747 jet, flying much too low, passed overhead. The three of us were momentarily stunned. Then I could see it going through their minds that they would be listening to this constantly if they bought this house. They immediately lost interest in the property.

These jets need to pass at higher altitudes or it will affect property values here. A big “thank you” to Tom Babcock for his efforts in this matter.
