New council member thanks all involved

To the editor:

Thank you, Fort Myers Beach!

I extend my most heartfelt THANK YOU! to the voters of Fort Myers Beach, to all of the hard-working campaign volunteers, and to everyone who contributed so much support for me in the Town Council election on March 8. I also thank my wife Vernie for her undying support and hard work.

I am still overwhelmed by Tuesday’s results, and I believe that the election results are a testament to the current council’s efforts over the past few years. Most people like the direction in which we’re headed on this island-the North Estero project was a great beginning and the results are paying off. The islanders want to see continued progress to make our paradise community prosper and grow. I firmly believe the new council can continue this effort. I will work proactively with our community and council to keep the momentum going and not impede it. My focus will be towards the good of our island environment, its residents, businesses, and visitors.

Vernie and I moved to “paradise” in 2003, and we have been loving it ever since. Together, we can build a better sand box. Thank you, again!
