Former mayor supports candidate
To the editor:
I wrote a letter of support for Mr. Conley, and it was published in the Observer last December.
My reason was a request for Carl to consider the possibility of throwing his name in the hat. Whew what a hat it turned out to be.
Carl is now being tried again in the court of public opinion for a mistake made more than 20 years ago. He paid his price for his actions 20 years ago. The newest public opinion case includes things he was acquitted of 20 years ago in the JURY trial. Why?
Come on folks. Let’s be realistic about the whole thing. He did a mistake and paid the price. Since the dtae he has been very successful in business and a credit to our community in numerous ways. he is a very fair, honest and responsible INDEPENDENT ISLANDER.
He will be a credit serving on the Fort Myers Beach Town Council and will be an honest man serving his community. We need him.
Forget all the nasty stuff and go vote for Carl Conley.
