CLHSCA parent announces fundraiser
To the editor:
I am the parent of two students in the theatre dept. of Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts. For the second year in a row, they have been bestowed the honor of being asked to perform their musical at the Florida State Thespian Festival in Tampa.
In order to get all 90-plus students up there, they are holding a fundraising performance for one night only – March 8, at Barbara B. Mann at 7:30 p.m. Thought you might let your readers know about a lot of hardworking kids working as a team and showing off what the Arts in Southwest Florida schools can be extremely proud of.
We need a little extra help getting the word spread and getting tickets sold so that all of these talented, hardworking kids can get to Tampa.
There are so many extremely talented young artists/performers in this wonderful musical. It is unbelievable. They all (cast, crew and orchestra) give 300 percent!! Likely, our community has paid to see many of them in our area theatres as well, and it is well worth the bargain BB Mann price of $15 regular seating or $20 preferred. Much more than what you would expect from a high school musical, and directed by the very talented Jason Loete, head of the CLHSCA Theatre Dept.
For information call Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts at 481-2233. Tickets are available at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall at 481-4849.
