Politics: who to believe?

To the editor:

They say they need to cut Social Security benefits to balance the budget, but

they have enough money for a tax cut for the rich.

They tell us we can’t afford to extend unemployment but, when the rich need to be bailed out, there’s trillions of dollars.

They say we need to cut Medicare but we are fighting two useless wars and there’s plenty of money for that.

I’m not sure if I’m more disgusted with the Republicans position of grabbing

everything for the rich or the Democrats caving in on everything, even

when they still control the Presidency and the Senate.

It’s too bad that this is a so-called “free society” that there’s no one representing the interest of the people.
