Newly elected fire commissioner thanks voters

To the editor:

I would like to thank all of the voters and especially those voters that helped campaign for me for your support in getting me re-elected to the FMB Fire Board.

I tried to tell all of you either in the newspaper articles, or when I had the privilege to discuss in person, what some of my plans were to help bring the spending under control and attempt to reduce your tax burden. I do not want to see your service degraded, and I do not want to see the District end up in bankruptcy.

I am very excited about the current Board of Commissioners and look forward to either seeing some of you attend our open meetings or to hear from you on some of your good ideas.

The Board certainly does not have a monopoly on smart ways to creatively cut costs and manage the budget. I would welcome all FMB area residents to come to our meetings and join with us in making this the best Fire District in Lee County.
