Were you at 8/28?

To the editor:

I was and wondered if you felt such a surge of love for this great country of ours and for all of its people at this event in Washington D.C. on 8/28. Standing amidst those thousands consisting of Independents, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and religions of all denominations was in itself heart-whelming.

“Restore Honor” is based on “The Special Operations Warrior Foundation,” whose soldiers have and are protecting our country. Those attending this event gathered together to intensify the need to unite as Americans as we all have the common goal of love for our country, whose Constitution gives us our individual rights, gives us our freedom related to those rights, gives us the privilege to vote for the laws to enforce those rights and restore honor to that endeavor.

For too long our differences seem to have been magnified and political differences have blocked any kind of dialogue creating chaos. With all those differences we have as individuals, we all have one thing in common as citizens. We are Americans. We have the right to our faith. We have the hope that, although we may not agree, we must listen to one another so we can learn from one another. We as individuals always express charity to help our fellow man. This was not a ‘feel good or protest’ event. It was a wake-up call to ‘get on the stick’ and work at being a Patriot, an American Patriot.

So, I ask the question, “Are there others out there who were in attendance that day and were told as a symbol to “pick up your stick.”

Vote. Be involved in your community. Volunteer. Work together for the good of America, rather that attack causing gridlock.
