Vision loss documentary needs support
To the editor:
I am writing to tell you about a very important project. “Seeing The Light” is a documentary that I am producing.
When I first discovered that I had macular degeneration, it was a very sad time for me personally. I would wake up every day and open my eyes and thank God for another day I could see. I soon realized that children with vision loss have an even more difficult time and decided to devote my life to doing what I can.
I have always been a fighter and decided that this would be, perhaps, the hardest fight, and one that I cannot do alone. That is why I am reaching out for your help so that I may do this work that will help others.
Although there are many breakthroughs in treatment for various eye diseases, there is no cure at this time. I intend to show the positive aspects by reaching out to and communicating with people affected by loss of vision.
I have completed the script and begun working on research and taping interviews.
The costs of this project -aside from tape, cameras and a crew to assist me- cannot be accomplished without financial assistance. I am very committed to this documentary and greatly appreciate your help.
“Seeing The Light” is a sponsored project of a non-profit arts organizationfiscal sponsor. For information to make donations, contact KCC and Garson. I can be reached at 810-3256 and kccsgarson@yahoo,com. I am currently on Fort Myers Beach and will be filming a “Kids Can Cook” television show, a program televised in New York City, at DiamondHead Beach Resort on Sunday, Aug. 29, at 8 a.m.
Thank you for your generous support.
