Re-nourishment subject still stinging

Now that Lee County has decided to re-nourish just the parts of Fort Myers Beach that they own, I have not seen any letters from the three nay-sayers who were very vocal in their opposition to the plan to re-nourish all of Fort Myers Beach. They are to be congratulated in the excellent job they did in totally confusing the citizens of the Beach with their misinformation.
Being that I have not seen any letters lately from them, I guess that they feel that they have convinced our Beach residents that they, and they alone, have all of the answers. You can ask them and, if you don’t ask, they will tell you anyhow.
The one item they have not commented about is the storm that will hit the Beach -not if- but when. I would suggest that since they feel we do not need our beach re-nourished, that they all sign a commitment to pay the Fort Myers Beach portion of the re-nourishment when -not if- the storm hits.
