Vice mayor offers thanks for support
To the editor:
Thank you to everyone who came by the Shave Ice stand this weekend to offer support after the beating the civic association handed me this week. It meant the world to me to hear that they don’t speak for the majority. To everyone who offered to resign their civic association membership or pull their advertising I hope you will reconsider. The civic association has done a lot of good for our home and will continue to do so in spite of a few rotten apples using it for personal vendettas.
I have always been honest, upfront and fair in my duties on our town council and will continue to hold my head high knowing I gave my best and my all at every meeting and every function to represent all Islanders.
One of the high points of being your Vice-Mayor has always been when Islanders come up to me and thank me for representing them and standing up for them. But, this week it meant even more to hear you standing up for me.I have never been more proud to be your servant.
I will leave office next month at the end of my term proud to have served and grateful for the opportunity.
