Jimmy’s Pink Cadillac owners call out to the community for help

2 min read

In the late evening of Dec. 21st 2009, a fire broke out in Jimmy’s Pink Cadillac Cafe, 16641 San Carlos Blvd.

The owners were not notified until the fire department left and the damage was done.

The fire was not suspicious, but the cause was not determined.

We did not have any insurance and are determined to get started before the season is really in full swing.

We waited all year for the holidays, and for the season, we were fully booked for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, only to spend the holidays alone and without our business.

Half of the restaurant was badly damaged and the other half was severely damaged by heat and smoke.

We never saw anything like it. The TVs across the room melted!

During our interview with [a local news source], we stopped (they waited) while a customer of ours set up a fund for donations at a local bank for our Jimmy’s Pink Cadillac Fire Fund, but the station edited it out of the broadcast.

We posted a notice on the door and on our website on the current situation with information where to donate if our customers felt so inclined.

Some of our customers had a benefit for us at The Century 21 Mobile Home Park. Our entertainers (Chapman, Smith Wade and Johnson) all gave their time and talent to help raise some money for us.

The bank made an error in setting up the fund and they told us today that they have been turning away donations because the account was not set up correctly!

We desperately need help. We have people willing to entertain. We just need a venue for another fund-raiser.

Please help us get the word out so we can return to serve our loyal customers and get our business back up and running.

Thank you for any attention we can get. Please feel free to call us for more info. The business telephone has been forwarded to our cell phones. People are calling all day to see what happened to us.

Thanks for your time,

Jimmy & Helene Orisino
