Florida honors national guards

1 min read

To the editor:

This week, we are honoring the courage and selflessness of the Florida National Guard’s 53 Infantry Brigade Combat Team at deployment ceremonies throughout the state.

In the coming days, these soldiers, totaling nearly 2,500, will make history by becoming the largest single-unit of deployed Florida National Guards since World War II.

As Commander-in-Chief of the more than 12,000 Florida National Guard servicemembers, I have seen the sacrifices made by our Guardsmen and women, and by all of Florida’s servicemembers and their families.

Their commitment to duty, service and community is truly inspiring.

We are living in a new era in America one that relies on the courage and success of our Armed Forces. They are the reason we can freely enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I encourage all Floridians to join me in offering encouragement to our Armed Forces and their families. They deserve our respect and thanks for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.

As always, I pray for the safe and quick return of all our Armed Forces to their homes and to their families.

May God continue to bless our Florida, our America, and our brave defenders.
