Mammogram madness
To the editor:
The suggestion to eliminate breast screening for women between the age of 40 and 50 can only emanate from either a nitwit organization or a group that is absolutely crooked. Of course, insurance companies are celebrating. It is a cold calculating business, and this kind of pinhead decision will reduce their liabilities and save them billions of dollars.
The insurance companies have no interest in the lives of these ladies and will use this windfall to fatten their already bloated pocketbooks. So, who then is responsible for this shameful, heartless and dumb advocating? It can only be the bureaucrats or doctors who have chosen to ignore their oath and sell their souls for the almighty dollar. If it is bureaucrats that are propagating this insensitive madness without delay, we need to deliver message to them by unequivocally stating our resentment and telling them that if even one life is lost, it’s their full responsibility.
Factually, thousands of mothers, daughters, wives and sisters have been saved from an agonizing death by having this procedure available to them. Only a citizen uprising will serve to keep it in place and preserve the medical morality in this nation. Every concerned citizen needs to contact their congress person and express their feelings. And, every media organization needs to identify each and every doctor pushing for this and fully investigate their connection to the insurance company.
We need to establish whether those driving this insensitive insanity are drunk, on drugs, crooks or just plain stupid. If a strong citizen outrage is not expressed we will embolden the nuts, and who knows what travesty will be next.
