What are they drinking?

To the editor:

The current administration has demonstrated a financial irresponsibility beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Generations to come will be burdened by Washington’s careless disregard for proven and well-established monetary truisms that have served as guidelines for us for more than 200 years.

Factually, you cannot help the poor by destroying the rich; you cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong; you cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift; you cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down; you cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred; you cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence; and you cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

This administration’s approach screams ‘we don’t want democracy anymore … we want socialism.’ And, while Congress people babble in a business-as-usual, do-nothing atmosphere, the fabric of America is being destroyed.

We need to write our Congress people, express our unhappiness and insist that they either start producing or our they go at our earliest opportunity.
