Wasteful MSTBU

To the editor:

One million Lee County taxpayer dollars are going to be used for an Municipal Services Taxing and Benefit Unit project made possible by the MSTBU

coordinator Ms. D. Sabatini and a “great coaching staff”. It is designed to eliminate puddles along the roads.

The Lee County taxpayer’s million dollars is to be matched by the residents assessments at approximately $13,000 each with seven percent interest over five years. MSTBU has also added San Carlos Court to the project, and we have no issues with puddles! It makes a person believe that Ms. Sabatini is searching for extra revenue.

Perhaps someone needs to enlighten the MSTBU and make them aware that my property’s value alone has dropped 50 percent! And while the police and fire departments are making cuts Ms. Sabatini is wasting millions!

The commission needs to revisit this project and the waste of unnecessary Lee County taxpayer’s dollars.

I would rest better at night knowing that I have the support of the police and fire district than worrying about a couple of puddles.
