Lyle H Dumers

Lyle is known to his family and friends for his love of sports and for his unfailing competitive spirit. During his years in Massena, NY he loved golfing with many friends at Massena Country Club and enjoyed all the area tournaments. In the winter months his playing skills and leadership were appreciated by fellow members of the Massena Badminton Club.

Lyle was born April 9, 1932 in Helena, NY. He and his brother Dewey were active while growing up, and as an adult he played shortstop for the TriTown Baseball Club; there were some exciting competitions against other teams, and his Mom and Dad were always there as his devoted fans. Lyle married Jeaneen on August 4,1962 in Massena, NY. They have two daughters, Lisa Adams (Nick) and Wendy Bella (Greg), and five wonderful grandchildren; Ian, 26, Kate, 22, Naomi, 17, Colton, 15, Renee, 12.

After retiring from Alcoa in 1988 where he worked as a master machinist, they moved to their new home at Fort Myers Beach, FL in 2015. There he continued to pursue more ways to keep active and keep hitting the ball, including golf, badminton, tennis and pickleball. In pickleball tournaments in both New York and Florida he earned many medals, even into his 80s, and for a time held a national level title in his age group. He liked to be at the beach almost every day with his bike and his friend Opus the macaw, as they found many new friends among both local folks and seasonal beachgoers. He will be dearly missed but friends and family must know that he often thought of everyone with great affection.
