Phillip Nelson Reasoner

Phillip Nelson Reasoner, 75, of Ft. Myers Beach, made his transition into Everlasting Life on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the presence of his beloved wife of 51 years, Tonya. He was born in Elwood, Indiana to parents Garrett and Esther Nelson Reasoner on October 3, 1941 and graduated from Ft. Myers High School. Phillip also served in the Army Reserves. He graduated from Ball State University with a B.A. in Business Administration. Early in his career he served as a Loan Officer with Merchants National Bank in Muncie, Indiana, followed by office of Controller with Mercury Marine, a Division of Brunswick Corporation, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Moving then to Ft. Myers Beach, Phillip was prominent in the business of the Pelican Restaurant with his brother, Buzz, and his sister-in-law, Ann. Phillip was also a commercial real estate broker in Ft. Myers and served in many prominent leadership positions including Lee County Leadership, CCIM, and for several years, held the position as President of Ft. Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, where he was recognized for outstanding service as Vice-Chairman of the Beach Erosion/Renourishment Division and for his generous contributions to the Chamber and the community.
Phil enjoyed fishing and hunting, archery, music, jogging, woodworking, RV traveling trips, especially touring Alaska. He also enjoyed and loved the companionship of his three Himalayan cats Sebastian, Dartanian, and Christian Princeton.
Phillip is survived by his wife Tonya; his brother Garrett (Buzz) and his wife Judy. His sister Janalynn Brink; nieces and nephews: Chris and Mary Reasoner; Laura and Scott Grant; Heidi and Michael Wood; Dara and Brian Schipke; Devin and Margaret Brink. Phillip is predeceased in death by his parents, Garrett (Attic) and Esther Reasoner.
A memorial service will be at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22nd at Chapel by the Sea, Ft. Myers Beachof which he has been a member and ordained Elder during his life on the beach. After the service, there will be a reception in Silver Hall at Chapel by the Sea.
