Thelma (Latham) Spitzer Biehn

Thelma (Latham) Spitzer Biehn, 105 of Fort Myers Beach Fla., formerly of Kenton passed away at 3:10 A.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, Florida. She was born on May 9, 1910 in Goshen Township to the late Pearl and Mae (Baker) Latham. She married Carl R. Spitzer in 1931 and they were divorced. She then married Gerald R. Biehn in 1952 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are a Son; Arden (Sandy) Spitzer of Findlay, a Daughter Tanyce (William) Lang of Findlay, Grandchildren; Gregg (Pamela) Lang of Findlay, Mark Lang of Key West, FLA., Kristine Keller-Pawlak of Gahanna, Joann Turner-Cooper of Ann Arbor, Mich., Charlett Keller-Barr of Katy, Tex., Great Grandchildren; Seth, Lang, Nicole Lang, Stacey Maurer, Meagen Johnson, Mindy Bragg, Alec Cooper, Carolyn Buck, Catherine Larson.
She was preceded in death by her family member; Margaret Turner, Jeralda Keller, Raymond Biehn and Robert Turner.
Thelma lived most of her life in the Kenton area. She was a graduate of Kenton High School and Ohio Northern University, and went on to teach school in a one-room school house. She attended Hopewell Church and also Otterbein Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Thelma enjoyed her many years of living on Fort Myers Beach and up until recent years had taken daily walks. She was considered the matriarch of Island Reef, which was the building she lived in. At age 100 she received the key to the town of Fort Myers Beach and at the age of 105 was recognized with a proclamation signed by the Mayor of Fort Myers Beach.
Funeral services for Thelma (Latham) Spitzer Biehn were held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Karen Rarey officiating. Burial was at Grove Cemetery.
