Doris “Dorie” Ann Massey
Doris Ann Massey, “Dorie,” passed away April 12, 2013. She completed her journey here on Earth and went home to Heaven to be with her Lord.
Dorie was born on March 25, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Waite High in 1958.
Dorie was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1991. She moved to her favorite spot in the whole world, Fort Myers Beach, in May 1994.
She loved Fort Myers Beach from the first time she saw it from the top of the bridge. She always said, “This beautiful place takes my breath away and makes me feel so close to God!”
Dorie was preceded in death by her young son, Douglas, brother, Michael, and father, Charles Emery, Sr.
Dorie wished to be cremated and her ashes scattered over the waters of the gulf. Dorie was a member of the Church of the Ascension.
