Lallo Obit

Peter B. Lallo Sr., 66, of Fort Myers died on Dec. 29, 2009 at his
residence. He was born in Knigsberg, Germany on March 1, 1943,
immigrated to the United States in 1956 and lived in Youngstown, Ohio, where
he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1961.
Pete was a journeyman millwright at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 12
years; he also was a delivery driver for 8 years at the A.H. Buehrle
Company. An entrepreneur in several other private ventures including
Mahoning Landscaping and Anchor Records, he was a lifelong member of the
Youngstown Maennerchor, where he once served as president and a board member.
In 1983 he moved to Fort Myers with his wife, Margaret, where he fulfilled
a lifelong dream of opening a restaurant. He founded Pete’s Time Out which
has become a mainstay on Times Square at Ft. Myers Beach for over 25 years and is now owned by his son, John and his wife, Debbie. He later also
owned the Smiling Dog Saloon and founded Indian Creek Lounge.
Pete is survived by his wife of 36 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Martin) Lallo;
his sons, David (Annie) Carter of Louisville, Ky., Peter Lallo Jr. of Fort
Myers, Richard (Karen) Carter of Taylor Mill, Ky., and John (Debbie)
Lallo of Ft. Myers; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his
brother, William (Barb) Lallo, Jr.; his sister, Sue (John) Duchanois; and his
aunt and uncle, Pete and Elizabeth Piergiovanni, all of Youngstown, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and William Lallo.
Services have already taken place and were observed by his immediate
family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Pete’s memory may be
sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
