Friends of Wildlife to host biologist

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will host Amy Clifton, regional biologist for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Endangered Species status of our burrowing owl was upgraded from “Species of Special Concern” to “Threatened.” The “Imperiled Species Management Plan” went into effect on Jan.1 . Clifton will explain the new mandates.

Residents, visitors, builders and Realtors will be responsible for ensuring that this delicate creature is properly respected and protected. Come to learn how you can help to keep the burrowing owls in Cape Coral forever.

The organization meets from 7-9 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Rotary Park, 5505 Rose Garden Way.
