Woman dies after being struck by car
A woman from Holiday, Fla., was struck by a vehicle and killed Thursday night on the Del Prado Extension, just east of U.S. 41
According the Florida Highway Patrol, Blaire Elizabeth Fenn, 41, was walking east in the eastbound lane of Del Prado Boulevard at 9:26 p.m. when she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Alveo driven by David Gonzalez, 23, of Cape Coral.
FHP reports that after the impact, Gonzalez brought his car to a controlled stop in the painted median of Del Prado. He was uninjured in the accident.
Fenn was thrown in an easterly direction, coming to final rest in the eastbound lane of the roadway. She was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
