Lee Property appraiser to retire after current term

Lee County Property Appraiser Ken Wilkinson, “the father of Homestead Exemption, has announced he will not seek another term.

His resignation release states:

“It has been an honor serving Lee County as your elected Property Appraiser since 1980.

“In life all good things must come to an end and for me that end has come.”

“You and I have surpassed all our goals for the office and myself professionally.

“I will not be running for another term.

“Announcing now will allow for those interested in running, time to formulate their campaign.

“I am most proud of you, our employees, past and present.
