Fort Myers Home & Remodeling Show returns

2 min read

The biggest homes show in Southwest Florida returns to the Lee Civic Center this weekend, with everything you need to spruce up the house, from small jobs to a complete makeover.

The Fort Myers Home and Remodeling Show happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11, 12 and 13, with more than 150 vendors selling and promoting everything from kitchen and bath remodeling, garage door openers and storm shutters, to game room accessories, facial cream, chandeliers and more.

Jackielou, show manager, said there will be several new vendors go to along with the regulars, many of them from the local area.

“We have 20 new exhibitors who heard that this is the best show in Lee County, so they called and wanted to get a boost,” Jackielou said.

The show in the beginning was heavy on seminars. It was decided they would not do them. Instead, they want people to visit the booths and see what they really want or need.

A survey booth will offer a $15,000 giveaway to all those who came to their shows throughout the year. Another vendor will give away a three-day cruise.

Jackielou said it is just an example of how the show has grown over the years. Although last year’s January show was marred a little by lost advertising caused by the Brett Cavanaugh Supreme Court hearings.

Jackielou said there shouldn’t be that issue this time and that growth will continue.

“It’s grown tremendously. We always get big crowds. We now have seven billboards as well as radio and TV ads. We always put the money out there for advertising,” Jackielou said.

Ultimately, it’s the variety of vendors that makes the show a cut above the rest.

“I’m glad that I’m able to support local businesses. It helps bring more business to Fort Myers and help these businesses grow,” Jackielou said. “We don’t have too many kitchen or bath remodelers. We have enough so everyone can get quotes from three or four companies.”

The next home show will happen Jan. 10-12.

Show times are Friday, from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $6 for adults, with children free and are available at the door. with free parking.

The Lee County Civic Center is at 11831 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.
