The Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library is hosting an event that will feature more than 30 veteran friendly businesses that offer services and sell products.

The second annual Life & Liberty Expo will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the SWFL Military Museum & Library, 4820 Leonard Street. There is free admission for veterans and a $5 suggested donation for the public.

“We still have room for a few more vendors, but we are almost full,” Events Coordinator Denise Wood said, adding that vendors who are interested can call the museum at (239) 541-8704 and ask for her. “We have an upwards of 30 right now. The maximum is 40 (vendors.)”

The deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The expo began last year, attracting about 200 people, after the veterans organization, The Grateful Veteran, partnered with the museum.

“It’s an informational fair. We have people that have different products that the veterans are interested in. It’s a day that we fill the museum with vendors and they get to introduce their products,” Wood said. “It’s an informational event along with services.”

Such vendors as realtors, mortgage brokers, home health care, lawyers and doctors, and pest control are among the line-up for the event.

“It is a fundraiser for us. The vendors do pay to come in. It’s a donation, tax-deductible,” Wood said.

In addition to the vendors, there is an $8 buffet and there will be entertainment during the event.

“It’s a lively atmosphere,” she said.
