Dads get free admission at Sun Splash for Father’s Day
It’s June, the heat is on, and so are the deals for dad at Southwest Florida’s largest water park.
In celebration of Father’s Day, Sun Splash Family Waterpark is offering free admission all weekend with the purchase of a regular priced child or teen general admission ticket.
“Father’s should come out this weekend because we are celebrating them. It would be a good opportunity for the family to celebrate Dad, while cooling off and saving money,” said Sandie Greiner, water park manager.
New renovations over the last few years, plus the addition of alcoholic beverage sales, may give Sun Splash a whole new look to residents who have not attended in recent seasons.
There will be more than $1,000 worth of raffle prizes over the weekend, including a 3-day, 2-night stay at Gullwing on Fort Myers Beach, a $250 gift card to any store at the Sanibel Outlets and free rounds of golf at Coral Oaks Golf Course.
“The prizes are amazing for dad,” Greiner said.
Prizes will be drawn on Sunday at 4 p.m. and you do not have to be present to win.
City Council approved a two-drink limit at the park prior to opening this season.
Greiner was pleased with the decision as she said she received countless calls from potential patrons asking if they served alcohol.
So, how will they enforce the two-drink limit?
Greiner said that when patrons want to drink, they will sign in with their name and license and receive a wrist band that will have two tabs. Get a drink, lose a tab.
The recording system allows them look back and see if someone has been dishonest about receiving one.
Now, drinking-age adults who come out for a day of relaxation, fun rides and cool water can do so with an adult beverage in-hand.
“The alcohol has been a great addition to the park,” Greiner said. “Attendance is up, which I believe alcohol is a good part of the reason. We have been sticking to our strict serving policy, and we have had no issues, and sales are good.”
The park has more than 14 acres of attractions.
The new “Pirates Cove” – – a popular children’s area – – has been resurfaced after the park had issues last season, installed by the same company that Disney uses.
The cove is an interactive water play structure for younger adventurers, featuring slides, a hydro storm, blaster, gushers geysers and more.
Sun Splash has lots to offer not just kids, but the whole family.
You can relax along the Main Stream River Tube Ride as is gently navigates you through the park.
For the thrill-seekers, Thunder Bump, Terror Tube and the X-celerator drop guests down a steep incline, perfect for the adrenaline rush you’re looking for.
Flumes, tunnels and slides all find a home at Sun Splash, varying in size and ferocity.
Rides like the Electric Slide, Power Surge and Cape Fear will leave the whole family immersed in adventure.
“We offer this deal because we want to give families a fun venue to celebrate dad,” said Greiner.
Admission rates for residents are: $14.95 for kids; $16.95 for adults (13+) and $14.95 for seniors (60+).
Rates for non-residents are: $17.95 for kids, $19.95 for adults and $17.95 for seniors.
Group and specialty rates are available.
Sun Splash is now open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 9. Also, the park will remain open from 5-8:30 p.m. for “Slide Nights” every other Saturday night from June 22 through Aug. 10 (weather permitting).
