Boat trailer parking payment boxes at city boat ramps to be eliminated May 1

2 min read

Pay envelope boxes at the city of Cape Coral’s five improved boat ramps will be eliminated May 1.

These boat ramps include the BMX Boat Ramp, Burnt Store Boat Ramp, Horton Park Boat Ramp, Rosen Park Boat Ramp, and the Yacht Club Boat Ramp.

“Drivers can continue to use Passport, a mobile payment app that allows users to pay for boat trailer parking from their smartphones,” a release from the city issued Tuesday states. “The City partnered with Passport, the leading provider of mobile payments in parking and transit, in 2015. The Passport Parking app is free to download from the iOS App Store and Google Play. Boaters without a smartphone can call (239) 424-9459 to register with Passport. Users are reminded to enter the tow vehicle license plate number rather than the trailer plate number when entering payment information.”

Passport requires users to enter the appropriate boat ramp zone number of the parking location. The zone numbers are listed below:

Boat Ramp Locations

* BMX, zone 1960

* Burnt Store, zone 1961

* Horton Park, zone 1958

* Rosen Park, zone 1959,

* Yacht Club , 1957

The daily boat trailer parking fee remains $10. Cape Coral residents and businesses can purchase an annual parking pass for $50. Annual parking decals are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Annual parking passes may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation counter in City Hall. For more information please call, (239) 573-3128.
