A student at Lehigh Senior High School faces multiple drug-related charges after drugs were found in her backpack by a school resource officer investigating a tip.

Ayanna Felix, 18, was charged with possession of a fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and drug equipment, a release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office issued late Tuesday afternoon states.

According to the Lee County Jail website, the drug charges include intent to sell.

The arrest came after Lee County Sheriff’s Office School resource officers received a narcotics complaint at Lehigh Senior High School on Tuesday. Felix was brought to the principal’s office and drugs were located inside her backpack, officials said.

“School Resource Officers identified the drugs as Fentanyl, Cocaine and Marijuana. In total, eighteen (18) bags of Fentanyl (2.7 grams), twenty-one (21) bags of Cocaine (2.5 grams) and eight (8) bags of Marijuana (6.1 grams) were recovered,” the release states.

Felix was transported to the Lee County Jail without incident. Total bond, on all charges, was set at $71,500.

Officials said they take the presence of drugs on campus seriously.

“Illegal drugs in a school are no less dangerous than guns in a school,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a prepared statement. “We are thankful for the Crime Stoppers Tip that came in so these drugs are now out of the schools and off our streets.”
