Southwest Florida Concert Band free concert Sunday
The Southwest Florida Concert Band will perform a concert featuring music from Broadway and more on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. at South Fort Myers High School, 14020 Planta-tion Road, Fort Myers.
The 50-member community band will open the concert with a stirring medley of music from “Fiddler on the Roof” and then the band will perform “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from the musical Evita. A medley of Beatles tunes will keep the concert light. Everyone will remember this musical when the band plays “Oh, What A Beautiful Morning” “The Surrey With The Fringe On Top,” and “Okla-homa” The trombone section will be featured playing the cool, swinging tune “Bunch of Bones” and then the full band will play a very challenging arrangement of “Les Misrables” which includes “I Dreamed A Dream,” “Master of the House,” “Do you Hear the People Sing” and others.
