FMPD promotes nine officers to command positions

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, the Fort Myers Police Department promoted nine officers to command positions at a ceremony held at the Heritage Palms County Club. According to Chief Derrick Diggs, the promotions were “an acknowledgment of hard work and dedication on the part of distinguished members of our force who have stepped forward to lead, train, supervise and guide new members of our growing family.”

Later that same day, 40 new members of the FMPD were introduced before a meeting of the Fort Myers City Council to illustrate the successful recruiting efforts the Department made in 2018.

FMPD promotions included: Sgt. Richard Meeks promoted to the rank of lieutenant, and promoted to the rank of sergeant were Det. Gloria Camacho, Det. Albert Antonini, Det. Daniel Losapio, Officer Kelsey Evenson, Officer Lamar Campbell, Det. Alesha Morel, Det. Dan Morency and Officer Walter R. Mickey III.
