Outdoor Expo and Boat Show next weekend
Are you an avid boater or outdoor enthusiast?
Next weekend, the third annual Cape Coral Outdoor Expo and Boat Show comes to Sun Splash Family Water Park for a three-day extravaganza.
Virtually every major dealer and manufacturer in Southwest Florida will be in attendance to present their products in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
“We try to make this show a little different, to give people something to do other than just looking at boats and heading home. We wanted to make it more interactive,” said event director David Ware.
The expo is presented by the 2019 Ford Ranger, and attendees will be able to test-drive the truck on an off-road type of course.
“The event has grown every year,” said Ware. “We’ll have great vendors and all kinds of vehicles and outdoor equipment on display. Everything that someone could want for outdoor recreation.”
The event runs Dec. 7-9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday.
Several hundreds of boats of all shapes, sizes and price ranges will be on display over 10 acres for consumers to view and purchase. Ware noted that several vendors will be holding end-of-year sales as well.
Some businesses included are Marina Mike’s, The Boat Place, Marina Max, Walker Marine, Fort Myers Marine and York Road Marine.
Live music will be providing an ambiance over the weekend, with specialty vendors bringing barbecue and seafood for a delicious bite to eat .
“This is a family event. You can spend the day outside, enjoy some great food and support your local shops,” said Ware.
Free seminars will be offered each day as well, including a motorized surf board demonstration.
You can learn from experts in kayaking, boating, fishing, sun protection and more.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 200 people each day, sponsored by Fishware Outfitters.
There will be Happy Hours on Friday and Saturday, from 4-6 p.m., along with drink specials such as a bloody mary and margarita bar.
Nearly 5,000 people turn out each year, something the event hopes to boost with the new location.
“The city has been a great partner with us,” said Ware. “We’re excited about our new location at Sun Splash.”
Tickets are $5 per day and can be purchased online or at the event. Parking is free.
Sun Splash Family Waterpark is at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd.
