Cape man charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon
Last Thursday, Sept. 20, around 6 p.m., Cape Coral Police stopped a vehicle, a Cadillac, for illegal sunscreen (tint) for being too dark, according to a report issued this morning by the department.
A records check revealed that the driver, Craig Steven Ollivierre, 35, of 829 S.E. 12th Ave., found that his driver’s license was suspended four times, the CCPD said.
While searching the vehicle, a K9 officer opened the hood of the Cadillac, where Ollivierre was seen manipulating something there earlier, according to reports. The K9 officer noticed that the fuse box cover was partially off and not secured. When the K9 officer lifted the cover all the way off, a small silver Derringer two-shot .357 caliber pistol was located inside. The pistol had been reported stolen out of Lee County, police said.
Ollivierre was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving while license suspended.
He was transferred to Lee County Jail.
