Public invited to Martin Luther King Jr. Day Unity Celebration on Monday
The City of Cape Coral and the Cape Coral Charter School Authority will host a “Unity Celebration” on Monday, Jan. 15, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The public is invited to attend the event, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Oasis High School Gymnasium.
The theme for this year’s annual celebration is “Keep Marching On.” The keynote speaker will be Chief Tracy McMillion. McMillion serves as the Division Chief of Training for the Iona-McGregor Fire Department.
Celebration activities will include an invocation from Cape Coral Fire Chaplain Bob Ossler, readings by charter school students and entertainment by the Oasis High School Acapella Group.
The celebration will wrap up with light refreshments and a ceremonial walk around the school campus.
Oasis High School, which is a part of the city’s charter school system, is at 3519 Oasis Boulevard.
