Drivers injured in van-school bus crash

Two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning after a van ran into the back of a stopped school bus in Lehigh Acres.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report, both the van and bus were eastbound on Lee Boulevard shortly after 6 a.m. The bus was stopped at the traffic signal at Gunnery Road when the van failed to stop, striking the right rear of the Lee County School District vehicle.

Both drivers were injured. There were no children on the school bus.

The driver of the van, Robert Josesph Call, 30, of North Fort Myers, was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the bus, Rochae Chanel Castel, 34, of Lehigh, was transported to Lehigh Regional.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Call was cited for careless driving, according to the FHP report.
