Cape Coral Outdoor Expo and Boat Show this weekend
This weekend, Dec. 8, 9 and 10, the second annual Cape Coral Outdoor Expo and Boat Show will be held at the German American Social Club in Cape Coral.
“For many years people have been going to Fort Myers and up and down the Gulf Coast for boats, boating supplies and for their recreational needs,” expo director Donald Ware said. “I thought we should bring an event to Cape Coral, and Pine Island. We did so well last year we’ve decided to have the expo again this year.”
The Cape Coral Outdoor Expo will bring boaters and outdoor enthusiasts the latest in boating, kayaks, paddle boarding, ATV’s, personal water-crafts, scuba, cycling, water skiing and wake boarding.
There are more than 75 vendors with boats from local and regional dealers and manufacturers like Fish Tail Boats, Marine Max, Marina Mike and The Boat Place sponsored by the Nautical Mile.
“We will have the latest in all things outdoors, from kayaks and scuba to cycling and of course boats,” Ware said. “This will be a three-day shopping paradise.”
Saturday will include a nautical flea market where the public is invited to come sell used fishing and boating equipment. Set up is between 8 and 10 a.m. $5.00 per person fee.
There will be a number of fishing seminars where visitors can learn from the best guides in the area: Rob Mody, Chuck Downs, Gregg McKee, Mike Wright, Josh Harvell, Mike Avion, Josh Olive, Reel Anglers Fishing Club, SW Florida Tarpon Club and lots more. Seminars are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Conceal and Carry classes will also be available.
“Entertainment will be John Friday and Steve Delaney,” Ware said “John Friday is a singer/songwriter originally from Maryland. He now lives in Florida where he pursues his musical dreams in the locals pubs and bars.
Delaney is a “one-man steel drum band” who plays authentic sounds that originate from the islands of Trinidad & Tobago.
“And, as always, we have some of the best fresh seafood in Southwest Florida,” Ware said. “The Expo will offer Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday from 4-6 p.m. featuring a margarita and bloody mary bar.”
For the youngsters, Ware added a “Kids Ride Area” featuring a bungee jump and rock climbing wall.
“We expect an even bigger crowd than last year and Fish Ware Outfitters is giving away 200 free T-shirts to the first 200 people that arrive each day,” Ware said. “There is something for every active lifestyle and budget. Vendors throughout the expo will be selling a wide variety of products and services and the Expo is the perfect opportunity to find a great deal for the holidays.”
