Catch the Vision to present a look ahead

3 min read

What can you expect from the real estate market in 2018? Where are the new jobs going to be?

Those attending the Catch the Vision Real Estate Look Forward on Tuesday at Cape Christian Fellowship at 2110 Chiquita Blvd., will have the chance to have those questions answered, as well as developments, trends and food and night-life establishments.

The Cape Coral Economic Development Office will present this seventh-annual event as a way for the public to learn the trends and tips, as well as their forecast as to where jobs and economy will take the city.

Gloria Tate, one of the organizers of the event, said the program is a reboot of a program called Futurescape that they did years earlier. After the housing market collapsed, Catch the Vision was started in 2011.

“We are taking a chance at looking forward to what is coming for future growth in Cape Coral and we hope to show new projects,” Tate said.

Jobs will be the focus this year, especially how many light industrial manufacturing companies are coming in with new jobs, Tate said.

It all begins at 5 p.m. on Tuesday with a trade show, with approximately 20 vendors and 20 sponsors.

“You’ll have the opportunity to meet the sponsors, get their products and any handouts they have, as well as the local vendors showing their products,” Tate said.

Tate said the format has changed from a straightforward presentation to more of a “Weekend Update” format from Saturday Night Live. Joe Mazurkiewicz will play the Chevy Chase role and will provide more interaction with the audience.

Hi-Fidelity studios did the production. Reggie Germain did the filming and editing, and Chris Spiro was the production manager.

That will be followed by some exciting business news which Tate was not at liberty to discuss before the program begins at 6:15 p.m..

Catch the Vision is open to the public. The $15 entry ticket includes a light dinner, goody bags, prizes, a resource book with sponsors and valuable city information, including zoning and flood maps as well as city directories.

Residents are encouraged to attend and learn all they can about the city they call home.

“We want the public to come because they have just returned for season and a lot has happened since they left. It’s a great way for them to catch up,” Tate said.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cape Coral Caring Center Holiday Food Drive.
