Hodges University to close in Preparation for Hurricane Irma
In preparation for Hurricane Irma, Hodges University administrators have made the decision to close both the Fort Myers and Naples campuses starting Wednesday, Sept. 6, at noon. The closure will remain throughout the weekend, with plans to re-open for normal business hours on Monday, Sept. 11, conditions allowing.
“Although the path of the storm remains unclear, Hodges University is focused on the safety of our students and employees,” said Dr. Donald Wortham, president of Hodges University, in a prepared statement.
Hodges’ fall 2017 Orientation, which is scheduled for Sept. 6, will be rescheduled, as will any classes scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8. The expectation is that normal business hours and classes will resume Sept.11.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to monitor email, as well as the MyHUgo portal and social media for further information.
