Deputies make burglary arrest during mandated curfew hours
At approximately 2:13 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, while assessing damage and checking local businesses, Lee County Sheriff’s Office North District command staff heard an alarm emanating from Fisherman’s Pub located on Pine Island Road. Responding immediately, command staff observed a silver Nissan quickly exiting the parking area, passing a posted stop sign, with headlights off. North command staff deployed their vehicle’s overhead lights and initiated a traffic stop.
The LCSO reported the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Ashley Goff, 29, was found to be in possession of numerous rolls of quarters and multiple sets of keys. During the course of the traffic stop, deputies were notified that the door to Fisherman’s Pub was found to be unlocked.
Investigation revealed that Goff was an employee at Fisherman’s Pub but did not have consent to enter the business.
Goff was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure (unarmed), petit theft and driving while license suspended.
