GENERATOR SAFETY:
As Irma approaches and conditions deteriorate, power will start to fail and people will begin to use generators if they have them. Generators can cause DEADLY conditions when improperly used. DO NOT use a generator indoors or where fumes can reach indoor areas; don’t refuel a hot generator to avoid igniting fuels; and avoid operating in wet conditions to avoid electrocution risks.
