CCPD investigating shooting death
Cape Coral police detectives are investigating a shooting in northwest Cape Coral Thursday night that left one person dead.
Cape Coral police responded to a call of “shots heard” in the 2100 block of Kismet Parkway West. When officers arrived they found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wounds, a prepared statement from the agency released Friday states.
That person, identified as Nicholas Goffar, 19,was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Next of kin have been notified.
Detectives and Forensics personnel worked throughout the night, locating and interviewing witnesses, executing a search warrant, and processing the crime scene.
“It is ‘all hands on deck’ in our Investigative Services Bureau right now. This is a very active and fluid investigation and we are making progress. We will provide additional updates as they become available,” said CCPD spokesperson Lt. Dana Coston in the statement.
